The new First Sea Lord Admiral Tony Radakin CB ADC graciously accepted the invitation to take the Review. A range of VIPs and Commanding Officers were also invited to witness this year’s parade along with platoons from HMS Collingwood, HMS Sultan, RNR and Sea Cadets. A variety of other partner Naval Association representatives were also in attendance. The programme was
0900 Civil Service club opened for coffee/toilets and Standard Bearer changing at 1025 The Parade mustered in King Charles Street and was briefed by the Parade Commander. 1050 Parade formed up at the Cenotaph followed by the service. The First Sea Lord then reviewed the parade who marched past the Cenotaph. On completion the Standard Bearers were thanked in the usual way with ’Up Spirits’. There was also a Bar open at Civil Service Club when Chips and Sandwiches served.
