Plymouth Branch Remember George Hinckley VC RN

On the 31st December 2015 over 40 branch members, family and supporters from Plymouth and District Federation of Ex-Services Association braved wind and rain to attend Plymouth Branch annual remembrance service for George Hinckley VC RN. The service was conducted by Rev. Peter Warland QHC, our branch padre, in the Victorian Chapel in Ford Park Cemetery, after the service, a short service was carried out and wreaths were laid from the branch and the Federation.
Nine Standards were paraded in support, including Branch Standards from Pymouth and Saltash, Commando Gunners Ass.,Royal Air Force Ass., RAF Police Ass.RFA Ass., Merchant Navy Ass.,RBL Ivybridge and HMS Ganges Ass. After the graveside service a superb buffet supplied by Ford Park Cemetary Trust and George's family was greatly appreciated. Later a branch plaque was presented by our Chairman Des. McArthy to Mr.John Boon Chairman of FPCT
