One hundred and seventy- eight members with friends gave a very warm welcome to Lord Mayor Wendy Foster, Consort Ken Foster, Rear Admiral Simon Williams CB, CVO Royal Navy, representing the First Sea Lord, and Mrs. Charlotte Williams at the Annual Dinner & Dance.
Silver Service enhanced by excellent cuisine provided by the Warrant Officer & Senior Rates Mess, HMS Drake, quality entertainment, ensured a memorable evening for all.
Lord Mayor responding to the branch’s toast to the City mentioned that this was not the first time she had enjoyed the RNA’s hospitality, previously when husband Ken was Lord Mayor.
Lord Mayor Wendy reminded members’ the City link with the RNA was very important, further enhancing the important Naval relationship that has existed for hundreds of years.
With an average attendance at the ten monthly meetings of eighty- four, twenty- seven new members and outstanding venue hosts, the future bodes well for the City’s Royal Naval Association Branch.
Membership stands at two hundred and five.
