Chard branch attended Armistice Day Parade Chard Guildhall 2014

Eight members of the Card branched attended the Armistice Day Parade outside the Guildhall on Monday. There would have been more members present but for the dreaded 'Bug' that is going around at present.
The day was overcast with threats of rain but rain was held off by a constant breeze which made for some
tricky standard bearing especially during the two minute silence which saw the bearer's  fighting to maintain control of their standards.
All in all a good day was had by all attending with the Mayor offering tea and nibbles whilst being entertained by to songs from the period past.
Three members called into  a local hotel on the way home and were presented with an RNA charity box (that had been placed in the bar of the hotel during the 'flag' week) by the long time barmaid Ros Saint. As a result the funds have been boosted by a further £24-39p, thank you patrons of the Dolphin Hotel.
